Quickly recognizing the community’s desire for fresh, locally baked bread, Lisa drafted her husband John. As a classically trained pastry chef, master baker, and former executive chef, John began creating a wide variety of breads. His selection has grown to include an exceptional sour dough bread, oat meal, Multi-Grain, and various sprouted grain breads including an ancient grain bread. With this expansion of their product line, Lisa and John decided to expand the branding to include a new label for the breads: The Bread Market.

With a menu that focused on sweets like cheesecakes, chocolate salted caramel bars, donut muffins, cookies, and more, Lisa quickly gained local notoriety: she won an award for her chocolate salted caramel bars; she was featured in local magazines including Edible Sarasota, Sarasota Magazine, and SRQ Magazine; and she was a regular guest on ABC7’s noon-time news hour and Suncoast View.

Once the whole family was working together to build this baking future, it was only natural to create the umbrella brand of the Glenn Family Bakery.
